As a virtual assistant, I can choose to work from pretty much anywhere; providing I have a stable internet connection. That’s why I’ve chosen to reside in SW France. After all, who wouldn’t, given the opportunity, want to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world!?However, while living abroad obviously has a number of benefits, it’s not without its glitches – although I admit the pros far outweigh the cons! And, it was one of these minor niggles that prompted me to write this post. You see, as a virtual assistant, I work with clients from all over the world. Whilst this is fantastic and means that I can grow my professional network exponentially across the globe, it does raise the question of how to … [Read more...]

Are you using the right tool for the job?

Are you using the right tool for the job?

Having used many different tools over the last couple of years, I have finally found a few that I really rely on to help me with daily task management, and I thought I would let you know what these are. I think I have written about all of these individually in the past, so I apologise if I'm repeating myself, but I really can't say anything bad about these tools. Social Media Scheduling I use two scheduling tools for my social media, Hootsuite and Buffer. But I want to talk about Buffer, as they have recently added some new connections which I have been waiting for, for a long time. One of those is Buffer to Google+, it's been a long time coming but finally I can now fill up Buffer to post to my business Google+ … [Read more...]

Organise your Clients (or Team) with this Free Resource

Back in January 2012 I wrote Get Organised with this Free Resource. So today I decided I would write about that same resource, but from a slightly different angle. How you can organise your clients or team with Asana. I've been using Asana for some time now, and it's made my working days so much more productive. As an entrepreneur who works with a number of different clients, sometimes it's very difficult to manage tasks effectively. Emails popping into my inbox 24/7, a never-ending stream of tasks to complete, and possibly all coming in to different email … [Read more...]

Free WordPress: The Benefits

wordpress-logo-stacked-rgb

Guest Post What’s so great about FREE WordPress? Not until very recently did I discover WordPress. I am a new writer and I wanted to get my work out there to the world and fast. With this in mind I was ecstatic to learn that not only is WordPress a wonderful piece of software, but also you can obtain it for absolutely nothing! However, there is so much more that meets the eye with this product and with this in mind I wanted to share the advantages of obtaining free WordPress for you and your business or blog. You can use your own Domain Name Unlike other publishing platforms where you can only use a sub-domain on their server, with WordPress you can use your own domain name as the software is hosted on your own … [Read more...]

Are your Social Media Networks Safe?

Screen Shot 2013-02-28 at 2.27.08 PM

Resource Review: SocialSafe What you post on your social media networks like Facebook and Twitter is not legally yours. At anytime these huge social media networks could close down and take everything with them, your photo's, your interactions with your friends, messages etc... Last year I came across SocialSafe and was really happy to be able to start backing up my social media networks. I started out small and just added my Facebook and Twitter profiles, but recently I have added my Google+, Pinterest, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn and my blog RSS feeds to SocialSafe. Each morning when I switch on my Mac it pops up and starts syncing with all the content I posted since the previous back-up. From the SocialSafe … [Read more...]
